HOLIDAY CENTRE ROUND-UP- Compiled by Mark Ritchie
End of season parties will be taking place in many holiday parks up and down the land, but some parks are remaining open for even longer seasons these days and this puts an even bigger strain on many resident entertainment teams. Mark Ritchie looks at the other forms of attractions which full in the gaps in many holiday centre schedules.

SEAL BAY SELSEY- UK Cabaret magazine reviewers visited this huge complex recently for the Curtains Up Showcase. And were very impressed with the set-up, particularly within the two large entertainment venues. The in-house show-team have been on site since very early in the year, rehearing and producing the parks shows and speaking to one staff member, we heard that this years shows have been of an extremely high standard indeed.

CLUB TROPICANA CHAPEL ST LEONARDS- A brand new trend of matinee variety shows at this huge venue have been declared successful during this year. Their Head of Entertainment Chris Merry told us at UK Cabaret that other similar shows are in the pipeline for 2025. During 2024 the show have been featuring Heritage tributes and stand-up comedians within the total framework of full-scale variety shows.

BUTLINS UPGRADES- Given the riotously successful adult-only events staged in The Butlins venues, it comes as no surprise that the company is ploughing new investment into ensuring their holiday park venues remain state of the art. After refurbishments at their Skegness centre, The Bognor Regis centre cabaret rooms have been focussed on this year, with the old Reds venue being re-developed ready for 2025.
ROGUE MINOGUE
Based in Devon, singer and performer Cheryl Hadley is generally acknowledged as a market-leading tribute attraction. Cheryl was a guest recently on BBC Radio 2. The presenter of their late show OJ Borge chatted to Cheryl about what it is like to tribute Kylie. A recent new album from Ms Minogue has produced much excitement amongst fans of the antipodean pop princess. This tribute subject is always an incredibly popular addition to any holiday centre cabaret list and Cheryl is incredibly popular with her Rogue Minogue show, which is featured at the back of this magazine in our artistes directory.
